We were looking for houses in the area - and let me tell you - some were REALLY interesting. Maybe I'm the one with the weird taste?
This little fella is called a weeping boy or something similar to that.
I guess it's the hip thing to have around here - seriously.
This fabulous carpet looked like a dog house had been placed in the middle of the room and the dog just did laps, peeing and drooling his way along. Sick.
The owners wanted the decadence without the price...so they put up PINK columns with fiberglass/foam stuff. This house was built in the late 90s!
This beautiful chandelier was probably won at church bingo night.
Those are horns by the way.
Those are horns by the way.
The owner finished off his own basement...I guess the electrical was a small oversight when he put the walls up.
The railing in this loft is about 3 ft tall. I wouldn't even walk over there for fear I would trip and knock myself over.
This picture is not deceptive.
The basement actually dipped significantly downward on the right.
When the kids get sick in cold/horribly windy Wyoming, this is about as fun as it gets: (it's flour by the way)

Gesh... you guys should just build!
oh man! I just know you bought the one with the chandelier.... how could you pass that beauty up???
Sounds like you guys are having a Ball out there in good ol' Wyoming...good luck with the house hunt...SERIOUSLY!
I vote the pink NASTY foam columns. Hope all is well with you guys.
Just move back to Denver. A family in our ward is trying to move and their house is seriously amazing and a great price. The front is my favorite...Think about it!
WOW! those look like some winners. thats just hilarious! I bet you had some good laughs.
We miss you guys!
I can't believe people actually expect to sell their houses when they look like that! Haven't they seen Designed to Sell? Yea, good luck with that! I hope it goes better!
Oh my gosh, Anna, that was hilarious. Chris and I laughed and laughed. We can't believe you saw all of those in person!
Chris would like me to say that the first photo is just creepy. The decoration, I mean. Wow.
We particularly died over the basement electrical thing. We're finishing our basement, and I'm acting as the general contractor, so I just hope that I'll never do anything that stupid. But seriously, forgetting your ELECTRICAL? I mean, that's kind of a biggie. I can't believe he fessed up to having done that himself.
Oh, so funny.
Wow! And I thought Moscow had shady construction! I LOVE the picture of the kids playing in flour! That's a fantastic idea! Good luck finding a house! I agree with Amy -- you should just build!

The pink foam columns takes my vote too :) Hopefully you guys will find something, although the building your own idea sounds pretty tempting. The kids playing with the flour in the bath is such a great idea. I'm going to have to try it.

By the way, could your kids get any cuter?

I thought I had seen it all (cowboy cutouts, iridescent garden "orbs", toilet planters), but the weeping boy is quite possibly the most disturbing piece of home decor I have ever seen.
Dont start thinking that you aren't the weird ones in Rock Springs. Just remember, you don't want to fit in.

OK, I am scared for you. Why can't you just move here? I wish we could have really spent some time together when you were here. . . I guess we'll just be online friends. And you can be jealous of me. Since I see your mom all the time. She is really so great and I hope she never dumps me as her counselor. xoxox
